The 3rd International Conference on Social and Complementary Currencies took place on 27th-30th October at the Federal University of Bahia, in Salvador, Brazil. The theme of the event was: “Social currencies in social and solidarity economies: innovations in development”.
Qoin had a session dedicated to the SamenDoen community currency programme running in Tholen and Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands, which is designed to activate citizens to contribute to the wellbeing of their local community.
The session “Do it together! Co-creation, activating citizens and social cohesion in SamenDoen” was presented by Lydwien Batterink. She had the opportunity to discuss how the programme represents a meaningful and engaging policy tool for the local community.
