Community Currency Knowledge Gateway launched!

After a huge collaborative effort, Qoin, together with the CCIA partners, is delighted to announce the launch of is an online database of community currencies outlining the origins, aims, vocabulary and functions of both high-profile and lesser-known projects in the growing world of currency design.

Written in five languages (English, Dutch, French, German and Spanish) and pulling together articles covering the full breadth of existing models including Bitcoin, digital barter, timebanks, and local currencies like the Brixton Pound, will be the go-to website for all currency design topics.

The online site aims to be the most comprehensive source of information on all currency topics – kept fresh by a broad community of contributors. The site is one of the legacy outputs of CCIA, with current partners providing stewardship and support beyond the lifetime of CCIA.
