CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility - is a quite comprehensive term that is used to describe a company's attitude and actions with respect to its social environment (people) and ecological environment (planet) while maintaining the responsibility for financial health as well. This synergy of profit, people and planet is known as the Triple-P approach. The terms CSR and sustainability are often mixed, because they both refer to a responsibility that we have towards the planet. However, there is a clear difference between these two terms. CSR is primarily focused on organisations and their responsibility towards the ecological and social environment. Sustainability on the other hand is a term that encompasses both organisations and citizens, but leaves out the social aspect, therefore concentrating predominantly on the natural environment. Being fully aware of this theoretical division, we choose to use both words mixed nevertheless, thereby responding to the general meaning of both expressions.
CSR encompasses all business processes. Merely making donations, or organizing extracurricular activities outside the organisations scope, does not do justice to the intention of CSR. Implementing CSR measures throughout the whole company will not compromise sustainable profits and economic results, but will strengthen both.
